In this episode, I catch up with Leonoor Fischer, the creative force behind LNR Moto and LNR Creations. We talk about her YouTube channel, LNR Moto, and her freelance work under LNR Creations as a photographer, editor, and storyteller. But we also dive into her personal journey, looking back at the challenging road she traveled to get to where she is today.

Caught in the dust at DARE
On a sunny spring weekend at the Dutch Adventure Ride Experience (DARE) in Loon op Zand, I catch up with Leonoor. The venue at Experience Island is buzzing with the rumble of adventure bikes, and a light layer of dust hangs in the air. Leonoor is here by invitation to give an adventure talk about photography and social media. It is a busy day for her, but she welcomes me with an easy, friendly smile and seems to be very relaxed.

I ask her how she is enjoying the DARE event and if she is going to do some riding today. She is just having a good time, but riding is not on the cards today. The Ducati DesertX she rides is still in Spain, and she admits she is secretly a bit spoiled now. Living in Spain, she can ride endlessly in the dirt right from her doorstep.

Who is Leonoor Fischer?
Leonoor’s path to becoming a photographer, rider, and content creator was far from a straight line. She always had a deep passion for photography, she tells me, starting out with analogue gear and small cameras. After saving up for her first DSLR with big plans, she faced a major setback when she was rejected seven times by the Photo Academy in Rotterdam.

With her creative dreams on hold and private tourism business schools being far too expensive, motorcycles briefly crossed her mind when she was 18. But she had to put that idea on the shelf to prioritize moving out, studying, and life in general. Eventually, she decided to study Media, Information and Communication in Amsterdam. There, she learned about marketing, writing, journalism, and photography, but she ended up doing absolutely nothing with her bachelor’s degree. The big Dutch media world simply didn’t feel like home to her.

A severe burnout, followed by two more

After graduating, Leonoor took a temporary job at a local second-hand thrift store close to home. That gig unexpectedly led to a decade of various e-commerce roles in logistics, webshops, customer service, and content management. While she seemed to be doing fine career-wise, she was deeply unhappy. Combined with a troubled private life, she suffered a severe burnout, followed by two more because she rushed back to work far too quickly. With her light completely dimmed, she took a break to reset. This break eventually led to a part-time job at a motorcycle rental company in Amsterdam. In her second week on the job, at 28 years old, she finally passed her motorcycle exam.

This was the new start she needed! She dusted off her camera, started an Instagram page, and began creating content featuring her Ducati Monster 821. Other riders soon noticed her talent and hired her for shoots. But trying to manage this sudden success while still recovering from her past burnouts proved to be too much, too soon. Realizing she was slipping back into the same exhausting cycle, she knew it was time for an even more radical shift! Leonoor finally decided to take complete control of her life, stepping into the world of freelancing with the launch of LNR Creations. With no solid plan, she simply refused to work a 9 to 5 job for a boss anymore, wanting to set her own rules and hours.

Those first two years as a freelancer were incredibly tough. She took on any gig she could find, from cars to real estate, accepting uninspiring projects purely to earn money. It was an exhausting grind, and it held her back from figuring out what she actually wanted to do with her life. But all of that changed when she bought her Ducati in 2022.

Her true calling came in the form of a Ducati DesertX

The spark behind LNR Moto
During a six-week trip through Italy, Spain, and Switzerland that summer, she had a massive epiphany. She realized that traveling on two wheels and documenting everything was what made her truly happy. This was when she planted the seed for LNR Moto alongside Creations. While LNR Creations remained her freelance business for photography and storytelling (writing for platforms like motorrijders.nl), LNR Moto became the dedicated space for her own social media and YouTube channel, where she shares her personal journeys on her bike.

Recently, she started a brand-new chapter by moving to southern Spain, falling in love with its incredibly diverse landscapes and roads. Here, she can ride from the dusty desert straight into the high mountains in just a single hour. She now spends her days exploring the rugged dirt tracks right from her doorstep, always preferring technical, rocky trails over deep sand. Her latest major project is a stunning multi-part YouTube series about her solo trip through Scotland. In these episodes, she captures the raw, rugged beauty of the Highlands, battling the unpredictable Scottish weather while camping with her DesertX. It is a perfect example of what LNR Moto is all about: honest, highly cinematic, and deeply immersive storytelling.

Life on the road
For Leonoor, motorcycle trips are about making her own plans and clearing her head. She travels light, packing her camera gear, a tent, and a few essentials on her DesertX. Every trip is an opportunity to connect with nature and the landscape. She is currently planning her next adventure to the Pyrenees, considering making this trip either right before or right after the ABR Festival. To her, riding remains the ultimate therapy, a way to live entirely in the moment.

Sharing the real experience on YouTube
Leonoor shares her travels on her YouTube channel to let others experience the ride with her. She is incredibly passionate about high-quality cinematography, but documenting her journey is about more than just showing perfect moments. Behind the scenes, she works hard, sometimes spending up to twenty hours editing a single video.

This drive for perfection is something she has to guard carefully to ensure she doesn’t lose herself behind the lens. She believes in showing the raw, real side of travel, while making sure she still enjoys the experience itself. Her advice for anyone wanting to try solo travel is simple: start small with a single-day trip, build up your confidence, and just get out there.
